Nashua Couple Stole $1,500+ from Kohl's: Police

Denise Ellslager and Steve Stevens were arrested on the spot, police said.

Nashua police recently arrested a city couple for allegedly stealing more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from Kohl’s.

Denise Ellslager, 35, of 45 Gringas Dr., Nashua, and Steve Stevens, 60, with the same address, were charged in connection to the Oct. 13 incident.

Police said Kohl’s staff called them after Ellslager and Stevens displayed suspicious behavior. Officers arrived at the scene, and Ellslager distracted a clerk while Stevens fled the store with the merchandise, police said. They were arrested on the spot.

Ellslager allegedly gave police a fake name; she was charged with lying to police and aiding a theft. Stevens was charged with theft.

Ellslager was held on $10,000 bail and Stevens was held on $5,000 bail pending arraignments.
