Nashua Fire Displaces Family Christmas Eve

Nashua firefighters extinguished a fire on Ferry Road Saturday morning.

NASHUA, NH — A fire at a Nashua residence on Ferry Road Saturday morning displaced a family on Christmas Eve. The fire broke out at about 10:45 a.m. at 12 Ferry Rd. The occupants escaped unharmed.

The fire, which originated in the attic, was likely caused by an electrical problem, according to Deputy fire Chief George Walker.

Firefighters covered valuables in the home — including Christmas presents — with tarps as they attacked the flames with hoses, Walker said. The Christmas presents were saved. There was "extensive" damage to the home and it was uninhabitable Saturday, Walker said.
