Nashua Fire Knocks Down Blaze On West Hollis Street
Firefighters extinguished a blaze in an abandoned building this morning. Fire marshal and police are investigating the cause.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua Fire and Rescue teams were called to West Hollis and Walnut streets for a report of a fire in an abandoned building. Firefighters arrived at the scene at just before 7 a.m. on April 18, 2019, for a report of heavy fire coming from the second floor of a boarded up two-story building. Witnesses told firefighters that there might be squatters in the building, according to Deputy Chief Glen MacDonald of the Nashua Fire Department.

“Crews conducted a primary and secondary search but didn't find anybody,” he stated.

Firefighters used hose lines to attack the fire while also searching for any fire extension to other parts of the building.
The fire is being investigated by the Nashua Fire Marshal's Office and the Nashua Police Department.
