Nashua Firefighters Battle Overnight Apartment Fire

NASHUA, NH — An apartment building on Kessler Farm Drive sustained smoke, heat and some water damage Wednesday night as Nashua Fire Rescue quickly extinguished a fire on the first floor of the 36-unit building. No injuries were reported.

Nashua Fire Rescue said it responded to the fire at the garden-style apartment building shortly before midnight and received reports from residents of a fire on the first floor. Firefighters waded through heavy smoke and were quickly able to put out the fire in the originating apartment before it spread to additional floors. The smoke, heat and some water damage occurred in the apartment where the fire originated.

Nashua Fire Rescue said several occupants were helped from the building, but that those in the immediate area of the fire were able to get out on their own. The fire remained at one alarm. Smoke detectors were installed and working in the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal.
