NASHUA, NH — Firefighters, police, EMS, and hospital staff lined the halls of Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for a hero’s sendoff to the last Nashua’ Engine 5 crew member on Sunday.

The three members of Engine 5’s crew were injured when a building exploded from a natural gas leak on Amherst Street two weeks ago. Two crew members were released soon after the explosion; however, the most seriously injured of the three was released on Sunday.

About a hundred supporters lined the halls as the firefighter was wheeled to a waiting vehicle to take him home, where he will continue to recuperate from the injuries sustained.
