Nashua Firefighters Battle Apartment Blaze
Six families were forced from their apartments on Royal Crest Drive after a fire spread from the third floor to an attic Wednesday.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua fire and rescue teams were sent to Royal Crest Drive for an apartment fire Thursday. The fire was first reported just before 6 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke showing from the attic of the three-story multi-family building, according to Deputy Chief Kevin Kerrigan of the Nashua Fire Department.
"Engines 3 and 2 stretched hose lines into the building and located the fire and began extinguishment on the third floor," Kerrigan said. "L3 performed a search of the building for any trapped occupants."
A "working fire" assignment was called and other firefighters were dispatched to the scene with AMR ambulance standing by as a precaution.

"The incident was fully under control with all searches complete (building clear of occupants) and all fire extinguished in 40 minutes from time of dispatch. The fire was extinguished just as it had begun to extend into the attic space above the main room of fire located on the third floor."
