Nashua Firefighters Douse Garage Fire On Summer Street

A garage fire on Summer Street was extinguished in around 10 minutes on Monday.

NASHUA, NH — The Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a garage fire on Summer Street on Monday.

Firefighters were sent to a report of a building fire and when they arrived, they found fire showing from a bay garage. There was a vehicle inside, too, according to Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Kerrigan.

“Crews stretched two hose lines to extinguish the fire,” he said. “The garage was unattached to the house and there were no exposure issues. The fire was knocked down in 10 minutes.”

No one was inside the garage at the time of the fire, he said. The cause is under investigation by the city's fire marshal's office.

Kerrigan also stated residents should remember when smoke detectors are activated, always leave the building immediately.
