Nashua Hospital Implements Lab Automation System
St. Joseph's became the first health care facility in NH to install the Roche Cobas Pro Chemistry Instrumentation to streamline processes.

NASHUA, NH — A hospital in Nashua became the first in New Hampshire to install a new lab system it hopes will streamline workflow.
St. Joseph’s Hospital, a member of Covenant Health, installed the Roche Cobas Pro Chemistry Instrumentation on Monday. The system works at a higher capacity which, officials hope, will improve productivity and eliminate routine tasks. The changes should make turnaround times faster, too — giving patients information as quickly as possible, Jeanne Wilson, the director of lab operations, said.
“During these challenging times, providing accurate and timely testing has never been more vital,” she said. “This innovative system from Roche will help improve our patient care experience by allowing us to provide quicker turn around results to our providers and patients. We now can increase our lab’s operational efficiency and reliability, as this will continue to drive improved outcomes for patients with better informed medical decision-making. It’s just another way for us to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.”
