Man Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Police say Rodney Maulding faces several charges in connection with an alleged assault.

Rodney Maulding, 24, of 36 Lock St. Apt. R12, Nashua, was arrested Aug. 19 on a Nashua Police Department arrest warrant for Domestic Violence - Second Degree Assault, a Class B Felony, and two counts of Domestic Violence - Simple Assault, Class A Misdemeanors.

On August 19, 2011 at approximately 11 a.m., Nashua Police patrol officers responded to a Lock Street residence for the report of a Domestic Assault. An adult female reported that she had been assaulted by the defendant the previous night. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of these alleged assaults. Members of the Nashua Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division furthered this investigation and learned that during the course of these assaults, the defendant had allegedly strangled the victim and caused her breathing to become impeded.

A Class B Felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A Class A Misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail, exclusive of fines. Maulding was held at the Nashua Police Department on $8,000 cash or surety bail pending his arraignment at Nashua District Court August 20, 2011.
