Nashua Man Charged with Drowning Pet Lizards

Richard Waite, 26, also allegedly released a parakeet that belonged to a woman he knows and damaged more of her property.

A Nashua man was charged with felony animal cruelty after allegedly drowning two pet lizards.

Richard Waite, 26, of Shedds Ave., was arrested Sunday. Police said the bearded dragons he drowned belonged to a woman he knows. He also released her parakeet, damaged some of her property, and threatened to do more damage, police said.

He was charged with two counts of animal cruelty, criminal threatening, theft, and four counts of criminal mischief.

Waite was held in custody pending an arraignment.
