Nashua Man Charged With Having Child Sexual Abuse Images On Devices

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua man was arrested Tuesday and is accused of having images of child sexual abuse on his electronic devices, the Nashua Police Department said.

Adam Earl Egerton, 27, has been charged with possession of child sexual abuse images, which is a Class A felony and punishable by up to 15 years in prison, police said.

Egerton is being held on preventative detention and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Hillsborough County Superior Court South, authorities said.

According to police reports, in February of 2022, the NPD received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about the exploitation of children via the internet, the NPD said.

The NPD's own Cyber Crimes Against Children Unit took up the investigation and identified Egerton as a possible suspect, police said.

The NPD said that officers conducted a forensic examination of Egerton's electronic devices and located images of child sexual abuse.

As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Egerton. On Tuesday, the NPD's Problem Oriented Police (POP) Unit took Egerton into custody without incident, the department said.

Anybody with additional information regarding the case is asked to call the Nashua Police Department Crime Line at 603-589-1665. The line also is available to anonymously report cases of child exploitation.
