Derek Marois (pictured), age unknown, of Fletcher Street, was arrested at 9:18 a.m. on Aug. 6, and charged with identity fraud, a Class A felony.
According to police, a resident contacted them about a credit card that had been opened in their name and that “thousands of dollars worth of charges have been completed with this card,” according to Lt. Denis Linehan, of the criminal investigation division for the department.
The police investigated the incident and alleged that Marois was the one who took out the card and spent the money. A warrant was obtained and he was arrested. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Sept. 2.
