Man Charged With Choking, Biting Victim

Johnathan Gerald faces multiple charges, including threatening his victim with a knife.

Johnathan Gerald, 28, of Nashua, faces several assault charges following his arrest Dec. 19.

Police were called to a Country Hill Road residence just after noon on Dec. 19 for a report of a domestic assault involving a knife. Upon arrival, officers learned that Gerald had reportedly assaulted the female victim that morning during an argument. The Criminal Investigation Division furthered the investigation and learned that the victim had her cell phone broken and was choked during the argument. The victim was also placed in danger of serious bodily injury with a knife. The victim reported she was bitten by Gerald and that he allegedly stole a laptop from the residence. Gerald was located a short time later at Lincoln Park and was taken into custody without incident.

Gerald was charged with: theft by unauthorized taking; two counts simple assault and criminal mischief, all class A misdemeanors; domestic violence/reckless conduct and domestic violence/second degree assault, both class B felonies.

Each class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment exclusive of fines. Each class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one in year jail exclusive of fines. Gerald is being held at the Nashua Police Department on $50,000 cash or surety bail pending his arraignment in Nashua Court.
