Nashua Man Injured in Everett Turnpike Crash

Merrimack Fire and Rescue teams, police, troopers assist at the scene; both directions of the roadway were closed for about 30 minutes.

A local man was been med-flighted to Tufts Medical Center in Boston after being involved in a crash on the northbound side of the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack, according to a report.

New Hampshire State Police troopers were sent to the crash scene in Merrimack at just before 6 p.m. on May 15, 2015. When they arrived, they found a 2009 Toyota Camry that was “severely damaged” after striking a tree on the side of the highway.

“Merrimack Fire personnel work extensively to extricate the driver from the vehicle,” according to Sgt. K. Grealy of the New Hampshire State Police.

The driver, a Nashua man, was treated at the scene by Merrimack EMTs and then flown to Boston.

“At this time the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing,” Grealy noted. “Preliminary investigation does not appear to show impairment was involved.”

The turnpike was completely shut down in both directions for about 30 minutes to clear the accident and investigate the scene.
