Nashua Man Strangled, Tried to Stab Woman: Police

A Nashua man strangled a woman and tried to stab her with kitchen shears, police said.

Larry Delaney, 63, was arrested Sunday and charged with several domestic violence-related crimes.

Police said he got angry and tried to hit a woman and her mother with a wooden chair. Then he strangled the woman, punched her in the face twice, and attempted to stab her with kitchen shears. The woman escaped without serious injury, police said.

Delany was charged with assault, domestic violence, and criminal threatening.

He was held on $50,000 bail.
