Nashua Mayor Proclaims National Gun Violence Awareness Day
Mayor Jim Donchess met with members of Moms Demand Action and city hall staffers to raise awareness and discuss prevention efforts.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua’s mayor met with gun control advocates and city staffers on Wednesday to discuss how to prevent future tragedies in schools and other facilities as part of proclaiming Wednesday National Gun Violence Awareness Day in the Gate City. The first Friday of June is recognized nationally as an awareness effort by Moms Demand Action to honor those who lost their lives at Sandy Hook Elementary School and to work to prevent future mass shooting incidents. Mayor Jim Donchess met with members of Moms Demand Action New Hampshire as well as city hall staffers to discuss the issue and prepare to pay tribute to victims and survivors.
Advocates urge supporters to wear orange (WearOrange.org) on Friday as well.
