At just before 3:30 a.m. officers were called to Powderhouse Road for a report of prowlers rifling through vehicles. A man on the road “noticed the dome lights were on in his vehicles which were parked in his driveway,” according to Lt. Dean KillKelley.

“When he went to investigate a subject ran away from his two unlocked vehicles and found they had been entered but nothing appeared missing,” according to the report.

Officers searched the area and in the course of doing so, saw a vehicle stop quickly on Baboosic Lake Road. Two men jumped out of the vehicle and ran beside a house, and then back into the vehicle.

“Officers were able to stop the vehicle and after an investigation determined Dejesus and Dawkins had no reasonable purpose for their presence and conduct,” KillKelley stated. “They were both arrested for prowling.”

Dejesus was charged with trespass since he allegedly matched the description of the man entering into the Powderhouse Road vehicles; Dawkins allegedly had marijuana so he had the drug charge added to his docket.

Both men are due in court on Dec. 3.

According to online reports, Dejesus has an extensive criminal history, including driving charges, bench warrants, simple assault, resisting arrest, resisting detention, reckless conduct/place another in danger, and disobeying an officer. Dawkins has been arrested for theft and receiving stolen property, according to online reports.
