Nashua Murder on Kinsley Street: Police

Nashua police said Javier Rivera Afanador, 45, died of blunt force trauma to the head.

NASHUA, NH — A man was found murdered in a Nashua apartment on Kinsley Street Friday, police said. The victim was identified as Javier Rivera Afanador, 45.

Officers found the body while responding to a well-being check at 32 Kinsley Street Friday at about 7:30 p.m., according to Nashua Police Chief Andrew Lavoie. Afanador died of blunt force trauma to the head, according to the results of a state Medical Examiner's Office autopsy released Sunday.

"The investigation into Mr. Afanador’s death is ongoing, but there is no indication that there is any risk to the public at this time," Lavoie said in a statement.

Police immediately deemed Afanador's death as suspicious and on Sunday announced the cause was homicide.
