Nashua Police Chase: Spike Strips End Pursuit

Nicholas Santy was arrested after police said he led officers on a chase from Concord to Nashua.

NASHUA, NH — A man led officers on a chase from Concord to Nashua Sunday night, speeding through Interstate 93, Interstate 293 and the Everett Turnpike before he hit spike strips in Nashua — ending the pursuit, according to police.

Nicholas Santy, 27, was arrested and charged with a host of crimes.

Police said the chase began at about 11:3o p.m. in Concord on I-93 as a state trooper tried to pull over Santy's vehicle because Santy was driving erratically, police said.

"(Santy) refused to stop and traveled at speeds varying between 50 and 100 mph," police said in a statement.

As Santy reached the Everett Turnpike in Nashua, Nashua police officers deployed spike strips in the middle of the highway and Santy ran over them, deflating his tires, police said. His vehicle came to a stop and he was taken into custody, police said.
