Nashua Robbery at East Hollis Street Variety: Suspect Arrested

Dereck Chaisson was arrested after a chase, according to Nashua police.

NASHUA, NH — A man who robbed the East Hollis Street Varierty store Thursday night was captured after a chase, police said. Dereck Chaisson, 23, was charged with robbery and two counts of resisting arrest.

Chaisson robbed the store at about 9:30 p.m., fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash and driving away in a red car. Nashua police Officer Nicholas Markarian spotted Chaisson at the Race Mart on Canal Street and the suspect fled on foot but was arrested a short distance away, according to Nashua police Lt. Craig Allard.

Chaisson is also suspected of robberies in Portsmouth and Exeter, Allard said.

Chaisson was held on $25,000 bail.
