Nashua School District Victim Of ‘Sophisticated Cyberattack’: SAU 42 Superintendent
Schools were open Monday as officials attempt to find out who recently hacked into its systems, according to Superintendent Mario Andrade.
NASHUA, NH — Classes were held in SAU 42 Monday, even though officials have been investigating a cyberattack on the district’s computer systems.
The Nashua School District recently discovered its systems had been victim to what School Superintendent Mario Andrade called “a sophisticated cyberattack.” The district, he said, was investigating the incident with the assistance of third-party specialists in an effort “to determine the nature and scope of this event.”
Andrade said, “We are working diligently to investigate the incident, confirm its impact on our systems, and securely restore functionality to our environment as soon as possible.”

The investigation is ongoing, and we have significant resources devoted to this process, he said, adding the district appreciated the “patience and understanding” of parents as they investigated the matter.
“The Nashua School District is committed to the safety and security of our systems and the information we maintain,” Andrade said.
