Nashua School Raises $25K for Scholarships, 3D Printer
Funds provide financial assistance to students and also help to purchase a 3-D printer for the student body

Nashua, N.H. – World Academy, a private, independent school for students from Infants to Grade 8 in Nashua, raised more than $25,000 at the school’s 5th Annual Gordon B. Ouellette Gala held on Friday, May 9th.
The money raised at the GBO Gala provides two benefits to the World Academy community: scholarships to help defray tuition costs for students that otherwise might not be able to attend the school due to monetary restrictions and a 3–D printer that will allow students to familiarize themselves with the nascent technology.
The money is raised through sponsorships from local businesses, donations from members of the community, and a pair of auctions. The auctions, one silent leading up to the event and one live at the Gala, offered a variety of items, including signed sports memorabilia, Red Sox tickets, professional photography services, and local spa packages. Proceeds from all items go to the GBO Scholarship Fund. Tuition credits amounting to $500 were also awarded to one family attending the Gala.

“The Gala is focused on the GBO Scholarship Fund first and foremost,” says Kathy Nelson, Head of School at World Academy. “We have had a lot of students that rely on our financial assistance program to attend World Academy, and this event has raised over one million dollars in tuition assistance over the last five years. Having this fund allows us to maintain a diverse and vibrant student body. The 3-D printer is also extremely exciting for us, as we focus on 21st century learning, and this is an opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with a technology that many others will not get.”
More than 250 people attended the GBO Gala, including staff, parents, and representatives from several local businesses that sponsored the Gala or donated in-kind services. Paul and Stephanie Levesque – better known as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon of the World Wresting Entertainment – hosted the event. Paul Levesque is brother to Lynn Ouellette, who organizes the Gala and is Director at World Academy.

“The GBO Gala has grown in size and scope each year since we have started this event,” adds Ouellette. “It has become a meeting place for the World Academy community, including parents and staff, as well as these magnanimous businesses that have donated in-kind services to the auction and sponsors that help make this a reality every year. On top of all the good it does for our school, it’s just wonderful to have our entire community together for a night of socializing, fellowship, and laughter!”
