A blizzard dropped 2 feet of snow on the city Tuesday and another foot is on the way.

Nashua public school students will get another day off this week.

School officials announced classes were canceled Wednesday due to a blizzard that dropped more than 2 feet of snow on the city as of Tuesday morning. There will be about another foot by the time the storm ends Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Here’s the National Weather Service forecast through Wednesday morning:

  • Tuesday afternoon: Snow with widespread blowing snow before 5pm, then snow likely after 5pm. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 18. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 11 to 17 inches possible.
  • Tuesday night: Snow likely before 8pm, then a chance of snow between 8pm and 1am. The snow could be heavy at times. Cloudy, with a low around 10. Wind chill values as low as -1. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
  • Wednesday morning: Partly sunny, with a high near 23. Wind chill values as low as -3. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
