Nashua Sex Offender Arrested

Convicted sex offender Peary Merrifield, of Nashua, was charged with failing to comply with sex offender registry rules.

NASHUA, NH — A convicted Nashua sex offender was arrested on charges he failed to comply with sex offender registry rules. Peary Merrifield, 41, of 23 Temple St., was charged with duty to inform, a felony.

Nashua police Lt. Kerry Baxter said officers recently learned Merrifield violated the terms of his conviction in 2004 for for aggravated sexual assault. The case was out of Carroll County.

"It was determined that Peary Merrifield was non-compliant with the terms of the sex offender (registry) and an arrest warrant was obtained," Baxter said in a statement. "(He) was subsequently located and arrested ."

Merrifield was held on bail pending an arraignment Thursday.
