Nashua Coburn Woods Shooting: Arrest Made

Nashua police said Peter Leonardi, of Nashua, shot a man in Coburn Woods April 14.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua police on Tuesday announced an arrest in connection with a shooting in Coburn Woods Friday. Peter Leonardi, 36, of Nashua, allegedly shot another man in the leg. Nashua Police Lt. Craig Allard said Leonardi knew the male victim but did not release further details about the incident. Leonardi is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, Allard said. Leonardi was charged under the convicted felon statute and also charged with falsifying evidence.

"This investigation is still open and ongoing," Allard said in a statement.

Leonardi was held on $20,000 bail pending an arraignment June 1 in Nashua District Court.

The shooting victim, who was not identified, was shot in the leg and transported to a Boston-area hospital in Massachusetts due to the severity of his injuries. Police said he had surgery and is in stable condition.

Coburn Woods is a condominium association with more than 200 units in the northwestern part of the city.
