Nashua South Meets Souhegan On ‘Granite State Challenge’
The winner of the second game of the first round of the NH high school student contest show will face Merrimack in the quarterfinals.

DURHAM, NH — The second edition of the first round of “Granite State Challenge,” the New Hampshire high school quiz show, will air at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday on New Hampshire Public Television.
This week’s edition features Nashua South High School against Souhegan High School, where Amherst and Mont Vernon students attend school.
Souhegan’s team includes captain and senior, PJ Cloutier-Kennedy. PJ is joined by sophomore Kasen Fox, senior Andrew Coleman, and junior Alec Simoneau. The team alternate is Caleb Brower. The team is coached by Nicholas Drinkwater.

Nashua is led by captain and junior Curtis Newton, juniors Narayan Sajeev and Deetya Nagri, and sophomore Calvin Song. The team alternates were junior Krish Kankure and freshman Henry Long. The team is coached by Lex Duval and Kelli Thornhill.
The winner will move on to the quarterfinals and face Merrimack High School — which beat John Stark Regional High School last week.

On Feb. 16, Fall Mountain Regional faces off against St. Thomas Aquinas.
Hosted by Bow High School teacher and former Granite State Challenge coach (Bedford High), contestant (Belmont High), and Granite State Challenge crew member, Jon Cannon, Granite State Challenge features New Hampshire's top high school academic quiz teams as they demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking, and smarts to beat the clock and buzz in first on this iconic New Hampshire game show. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts, and fine arts facts — along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New Hampshire.
