Nashua Special Election

The polls open Tuesday at 6 a.m. for a special election between Michael O'Brien and Mark Cookson for an at-large alderman seat.

Polls open in Nashua Tue., June 23 at 6 a.m. for a special election.

Michael O’Brien (left in photo) and Mark Cookson are running for an at-large seat on the Board of Aldermen. The seat had been occupied by Diane Shaheen, who earlier this year resigned ahead of her move out of the state.

The polls will be open until 8 p.m. across the city’s nine voting wards.

O’Brien is currently the city’s deputy fire chief. He’s also a four-term state representative. Cookson previously served as an at-large alderman.
