Nashua Student Honored For Volunteerism

Nashua High School South senior Jillian MacGregor was recently honored by the Nashua Board of Education.

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua high school student was recently honored for volunteer work in the community. Jillian MacGregor, a Nashua High School South senior, was named a 2017 Prudential Spirit of Community Award finalist and has mentored middle school girls at summer coding camps at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua.

"Jillian was honored at (a) Nashua Board of Education meeting for her ongoing service to the community," school officials said in a statement. "Through summer computer coding camps and weekly coding sessions at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua, Jillian has spent the last several years encouraging middle school girls in the field of computing and information technology."

Last month, she was also honored by the University of New Hampshire and National Center for Women and Information Technology for her "outstanding aptitude and interest in computing and desire to pursue computer-related studies or occupations."
