Nashua Willie Jewell’s Featured On Phantom Gourmet

NASHUA, NH — The restaurant review program Phantom Gourmet recently featured new Nashua barbecue joint Willie Jewel's. The 569 Amherst Street restaurant opened in October.

Owners Kevin and Tori Chartrand told the Phantom Gourmet they decided to open a franchise in Nashua after visiting a Florida Willie Jewel's. The restaurant chain, based in Jacksonville, Florida, was founded in 2008 and has franchise locations in Georgia and South Carolina.

“We smoke all of our meats from scratch here, personally dry rub here, and we throw it in the smoker and cook it for hours upon hours,” Kevin Chartrand told the Phantom Gourmet.

Signature dishes include chicken wings, St. Louis-style ribs, the "Bo-Hawg" — made with pork, smoked sausage and cheddar — corn fritters and banana pudding.

Phantom Gourmet said the meats are "ultra-moist" and "flavor-packed."
