Nashua Woman Allegedly Slashes Another During Altercation
Jacqueline Cortes-Montero was arrested for felony second-degree assault after an early morning incident late last month.

NASHUA, NH — A local woman is due in court next month after being arrested on Thursday on an assault charge. Jacqueline Cortes-Montero, 46, of Kinsley Street in Nashua, was arrested on April 18, 2019, on a single felony count of second-degree assault. Officers were sent to the area West Hollis and Chestnut streets at around 1:30 a.m. on March 31, for a report of an assault incident involving a knife.
Police investigated the incident and later, detectives furthered the investigation, and allegedly determined that “Cortes-Montero had displayed a knife during a physical altercation with another female” and that the victim “received minor injuries during this altercation,” according to a police report. The victim was treated at a local hospital.
An arrested warrant was issued for Cortes-Montero and she was charged up a few weeks later. She was released on $300 cash or surety bail and is due in Hillsborough County Superior Court-South on May 2.

Police noted that if convicted, Cortes-Montero faces up to seven years in prison and fines.
