Nashua Woman Charged with Felony Theft
Maria Alvarez allegedly stole more than $1,500 worth of items from Macy's.

A local woman was arraigned yesterday after allegedly stealing numerous items from Macy’s earlier this week.
Maria Rodriguez Alvarez, 29, of Palm Street in Nashua, was arrested at around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, on a felony theft by unauthorized taking charge.
According to a report, officers were called to Macy’s in the Pheasant Lane Mall for a report of a theft.

An employee of the store reported that there was a woman inside the store, later identified as Alvarez, selecting items and then, allegedly going into a nearby fitting room to remove price tags from the merchandise. The items reportedly included several items like clothing, watches, and other accessories, which were taken from display cases.
Alvarez reportedly left the store without paying for any of the items and was confronted by employees. After police investigated the matter, she was arrested.

The value of the items exceeded $1,500 so the charge was elevated to a felony. She was held on $1,000 cash bail and arraigned the next day.
