Nashua's Arushi Kalpande Makes NH Proud in National Spelling Bee
Congratulations to Nashua's Arushi Kalpande! She made it to the final 45 in this week's National Spelling Bee.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua student Arushi Kalpande made her home state proud in this week's National Spelling Bee.
Kalpande, 14, was one of 45 spellers who made it to the final round but was knocked out after spelling the word "rhamphotheca" incorrectly.

It was Kalpande's third time in the bee—she also finished in the top 45 the last two years.
Kalpande is a student at Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School. She said she wants to be a physicist when she grows up. She’s fluent in Marathi, English, and Hindi and plays violin. Her favorite subject is science.
