Officer James Ciulla shot Justin Contreras after he pointed an unloaded revolver at him during a check the welfare call on Ledge Street.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office has released its final report concerning its investigation into a non-fatal police shooting in Nashua in June 2018. The attorney general’s office opened its investigation into the shooting after officers were sent to a check on the welfare call on Ledge Street in the Gate City. During the call, officers encountered Justin Contreras, 29 at the time, and a confrontation ensued.
Contreras was shot and injured and med-flighted to a hospital while the NH AG’s Office opened an investigation into the incident.
Officer James Ciulla, it was later learned, shot at Contreras three times and hit him twice after Contreras pointed an unloaded revolver at him, according to a report on Patch in July 2018. In August 2018, the AG’s Office determined that the shooting was justified.
