NH Driver Used Cheese Wrapper To Fake Registration Sticker: Police
Alexandria police said a driver used a cheese wrapper for her car registration: "We can't even file this under the 'A for effort' category."
ALEXANDRIA, NH — A New Hampshire driver's ploy to fake her vehicle registration stickers simply didn't cut it, according to police. The woman taped a cheese wrapper and parts of a Hannaford circular on her vehicle in place of registration and inspection stickers, police said. The woman was pulled over by an officer in Alexandria Saturday and arrested for driving after suspension and driving without insurance. Her name was not released.
"Luckily 'sharp' eyes weren't necessary in this one," Alexandria police said in a statement. "We can't even file this under the 'A for effort' category."
The cheese wrapper was for a "cracked pepper sharp" flavor. The wrapper and part of a Hannaford circular reading "These prices hold until July 8" were taped to the woman's license plate. Another part of the circular was taped to the window in place of an inspection sticker. Her car was impounded, police said.

"We were equally surprised to find out that Hannafords was now issuing inspection stickers," police said. "Making fake stickers is (never) a gouda idea."
