MANCHESTER, N.H. -- A local New Hampshire high school student recently thought up and created an award-winning invention – and on Monday, she had a chance to show it off.

Kellyn Johnson, a student at The Derryfield School in Manchester, earned top honors in AT&T’s Inventor’s Challenge for an invention she calls the “Switch Shelf.”

The Switch Shelf is a simple and clever invention for people living in small spaces. With wheels fitted in the back of a shelf, this piece of furniture can function as both a standup shelf and a flat rollaway storage solution.
