Man Killed in Everett Turnpike Crash Identified

Mass. man killed in one of a number of crashes reported on the Everett Turnpike on Friday in Merrimack and Nashua.

A Massachusetts man has been identified as the person who was killed during a motor vehicle collision on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack on Friday night, according to a press statement from the New Hampshire State Police.

Erik Wennerstrom, 41, of Tyngsborough, MA, died from the injuries sustained in the accident on the southbound lane of Exit 10, at just before 9 p.m. on March 20, 2015.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer that Wennerstrom was in rolled over numerous times, according to police. Two other passengers in the vehicle were transported to area hospitals and were treated and released.

“A preliminary investigation determined that speed and the existing weather conditions contributed to the collision,” according to Sgt. Lencki of the New Hampshire State Police.

Numerous crashes were reported along the highway on Friday night after light snow and black ice causes exceedingly difficult driving conditions, according to reports.

According to his online profile, Wennerstrom was a husband and father of two children and worked as a digital communications manager for Textron Systems in Rhode Island. He grew up in Chelmsford, MA.
