Ocean State Job Lot Opens in Nashua

Ocean State Job Lot, a leading closeout retailer headquartered in Rhode Island with 113 stores in New England, New Jersey, and New York, announces its 114th store opening at 300 Main St. in Nashua in the Main Street Marketplace Plaza. The store is the 11th in the state of New Hampshire for the discount retail chain.

Job Lot offers a wide assortment of brand name merchandise at closeout prices. Shoppers can find an ever-changing array of household goods, apparel, pet supplies, seasonal products (holiday, sporting goods, outdoor, gardening) and kitchen pantry staples at a fraction of their typical price. Existing stores in New Hampshire are located in Concord, Derry, Hooksett, Newport, Northumberland, Ossipee, Peterborough, Portsmouth, Walpole, and Woodsville.

A daylong Grand Opening celebration is planned for Saturday, Sept. 13, starting at 8 a.m. when the doors open to the public. Festivities continue throughout the morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. by Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau and other local dignitaries, including state Sen. Peggy Gilmour.

Ocean State Job Lot will also be giving away a variety of free food samples and a chance to win a $200 shopping spree. Various community organizations and businesses will display their information and offer prize drawings, including The New England Patriots Alumni Club (founder/former Pats player Pete Brock will sign autographs, pose for photos and raffle off tickets to their annual away game viewing party), Anctil’s Martial Arts-Fitness (performing demonstrations), Granite Skate Troopers roller derby squad, YMCA of Greater Nashua, Gateways Community Services, and Nashua Senior Activity Center. WZID-FM will host a remote broadcast at the store from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Nashua Police and Fire Departments will display several emergency response vehicles during the event. Nashua-based Choppers of New England will display three specialty motorcycles: a flame-red chopper, a vintage World War II military motorcycle, and a newly built, customized bike designed to accommodate a female, wheelchair-bound Wounded Warrior soldier.

In conjunction with Job Lot’s community-first approach to business, a truckload of approximately 40,000 lbs. of nutritious, shelf-stable food will be donated to the New Hampshire Food Bank (Manchester) with several pallets earmarked for the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter, Inc. (Nashua) courtesy of Ocean State Job Lot’s Charitable Foundation’s “Three Square Meals” Family Meal Assistance Program. Job lot will also donate school supplies to the YMCA of Greater Nashua’s “back to school” supply drive, which supports children in need.

Job Lot Store Manager Scott Saucier, a Merrimack resident, oversees the 30,901 sq. ft. facility, which employs about 35 associates from the area in full- and part-time sales, operations and customer service job positions. “We’re beyond excited to open our eleventh store in New Hampshire,” states Saucier. “Over the past several months, we’ve turned a former Bradlees department store that was vacant since 2001 into a vibrant, closeout-driven shopping destination stocked with tremendous values.
