Patriots Super Bowl Bound

Pats held on to win, to the delight of New England fans everywhere.

If downtown Nashua sports bars and restaurants saw an uptick in business from Sunday's AFC Championship game, they will probably do even better two weeks from today.

The New England Patriots defeated the Baltimore Ravens, 23-20, in improbable fashion to win the AFC title and return to the Super Bowl for the fifth time in the last 11 years.

Ravens place kicker Billy Cundiff missed what would have been a game-tying field goal with seconds to go in regulation when it sailed wide left of the uprights.

The next stop for the Patriots will be Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis on Feb. 5. The Patriots will be play the winner of the NFC title game on Sunday night between the New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers.

For the Patriots, this will be the team's first trip back to the Super Bowl since they lost to the Giants in 2008, 17-14.
