Patronizing small businesses builds community

If you support your community, shop at a small business.

When I shop at a small business I think of it as a contribution to community capital. I don't mind paying a few pennies more because I like the feeling I get knowing that I just bought something from a neighbor.  Small businesses are operated by local people that have a direct stake in the community like I do. They employ my friends and neighbors. They offer a personal touch. The big guys and the big brands can get economies of scale but they cannot match the neighborliness of the little guys.

Buy local, support local people. It makes you feel good.
