Why are you seeking elective office?
I’ve decided to run for State Representative, Ward 5 in Nashua, for the following reasons:
I believe that we as a community and as a state need to work for more transparency in government.
I want to make sure our constitutional rights are never taken away from us. I will fight to preserve our 1st Amendment Rights & keep our motto "LIVE FREE OR DIE"!
Under our 1st amendment right NO elected body should have the right to turn off the microphones or refuse to listen to the public.
ALL members of any elected bodies in the state must disclose before voting, on certain legislation if they have received donations from any special interest/lobbyist group(s). I want to ensure the citizens of NH are represented.
During COVID we saw how parent’s voices were not being heard at school board meetings and they were labeled domestic terrorists for fighting for their children. Parents should have all rights when it comes to making decisions for their children. It is sad that a PARENTS’ BILLS OF RIGHTS had to be written.
Homeowners should never be penalized for using their insurance. Homeowner's insurance is required by the lender when you close on your home. If you need to use the insurance your premiums should not double or triple. I’ve said for many years why can’t we have a point system like the auto industry so you're not paying very high premiums if you have to use your homeowners’ policy?
Hospitals and all other medical facilities need to accommodate patients that are unable to wear a mask and or shield because of medical or religious reasons in order for them to see their physician or receive hospital treatment.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Covid. How does the school districts and students recover from it. Many, many students have fallen behind and teachers and superintendents have a long road ahead. It's time we as a state working with the SAU's in coming up with more than an adequate education because of the long time students were remote from home. If I'm on the education committee or I have other Representative(s) work with myself and legal maybe we can once and for all define an adequate plus education in NH.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I feel that the public is not being listened to. Transparency in government and agencies have too much power.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
Giving the Governor to much power during Covid. We have three branches of government for a reason and during Covid we were down to one.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
Not afraid to speak up for what I feel is not right. I've been elected twice to the BOE, once to BOA and State Rep. in Nashua and I'm not afraid to address issues and fight for my constituents and I've done it in the past and I'll do it again if I'm elected.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I've learned to work will all people on both side of the aisle. I've learned that you can't always get what you want but you can compromise without losing your values and principles and work for the betterment of your city and the state.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Team work make the dream work. We have forgotten to work as a team for the citizens of this state.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
You can always contact me by phone or text. I will give you my attention and listen to you. I will voice my opinion and I will take on challenges.
