Nashua, October 27, 2022: Peacock Players announces their Teen Mainstage Production of Dolly Parton's musical 9 to 5. This production features area students between the ages of 14 and 18 and is rated PG-13. The show is directed by Executive Director Elle Millar, choreographed by Catherine Santos, and music directed by Karina Allayne and Elle Millar .

This musical is a stage adaptation of the 1980 hit film of the same name, with music and lyrics by beloved music icon Dolly Parton. The story follows three secretaries, Violet (Grace Giannetti of Amherst), Judy (Sofia Santoro of Groton), and Doralee (Rae Pizzi of Londonderry) and their plan to get revenge on their sexist boss, Mr. Hart (Mollymauk Draven of Dunstable) while avoiding the shrewd eye of his biggest flunky, Roz (Sophia Scribner of Nashua).

This is the first full teen mainstage production under the guidance of the company's new Executive Director, Elle Millar. "When we were planning the fall season, I wanted to bring shows that felt familiar to our audiences, but also fresh. 9 to 5 is based on a beloved film with an iconic title song, but has also never been performed in Nashua. The show is hilarious and the themes are quite relevant to today. It was a perfect choice!"

The cast and crew have embraced the plot and characters, based on the classic film, and are eager to bring them to life. Sophia Scribner, who plays Roz, said "Roz is a very interesting character. Her infatuation with Mr. Hart is really intriguing to me because Hart is such an awful person." When describing the challenges of playing the role, Scribner explained the difficulties of her character's main comedic song, "Heart to Hart". "Some of the notes start at the very bottom of my range and then go up to belting very quickly. I also have to sing this song while moving all around the stage and even laying down on a desk. Still, the challenging aspects of this song make it so much fun to perform."

The show performs the weekends of November 11th and 18th, with performances at 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Productions will be at the Janice Streeter Theatre, located at 14 Court Street in Nashua. Tickets are available at www.peacockplayers.org.
