Pelham Police Dash Cam: Driver Nearly Causes Crash

PELHAM, NH — A driver in Pelham was caught on a police dash cam illegally passing a cruiser and nearly causing a crash. "We are always on the lookout for motor vehicle infractions when out on patrol," Pelham police said in a statement. "Some are more obvious than others. This driver almost caused an accident ... (the officer) was driving a fully marked cruiser."

The illegal maneuver can be be seen beginning at the 55-second mark in the dash cam video:

As the cruiser slows down to pass a line crew parked on the side of the road, the driver at the helm of a beige sedan speeds past the cruiser across the double-yellow line in the face of an oncoming sport utility vehicle. The officer immediately flashes his emergency lights and pulls the driver to the side of the road.
