Perspectives on Autism | Keynote by Author Carrie Cariello of Bedford

MANCHESTER, NH (March 27, 2014)— One in 88 American children is on the autism spectrum. To address this, Parenting New Hampshire presents “Perspectives on Autism,” an educational seminar on April 1, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester. Author Carrie Cariello of Bedford is the keynote speaker. Cariello, a mother of five, including a son with autism, chronicles her family’s adventures and experiences on her blog at http://carriecariello.com and in her book, “What Color is Monday?” She will share stories, anecdotes, and talk about the challenges and joys of being a mother of a child with autism.

Educators and family members of children with autism, including parents, grandparents, siblings, and caregivers, are invited to attend to explore autism’s different perspectives; how it impacts children and families; and the resources that are available in New Hampshire for individuals with autism.

“We encourage parents and educators to come to the event with any questions they may have for our speakers and exhibitors,” says Melanie Hitchcock, editor of Parenting New Hampshire Magazine. “Attendees can meet with these experts to learn about available resources to assist and support their child. Exhibitors will also provide information about their products and services.”
