Police: Nashua Man Robbed People on Cypress Lane

Anthony Debenedictis allegedly displays gun during robbery; also charged with drug possession.

A local man was arrested and arraigned earlier this month after allegedly robbing people in a parking lot and home on Cypress Lane, according to police.

Anthony Debenedictis, 24, of Ridgefield Drive in Nashua, was arrested at around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, and charged with robbery and possession of a narcotic drug, both felonies, and possession of a controlled drug.

Officers were called to a report of a robbery on the street. Witnesses reported that a man approached them in the parking lot, displayed a firearm, and demanded money.

“The suspect then forced the group into one of the victim’s apartments where he continued to make demands,” said Lt. James Testaverde of the criminal investigation division. “Eventually, one of the victims was able to call for help and the suspect fled on foot.”

Officers who were called to the scene found a man matching the description of the robber, later identified as Debenedictis, walking in the area and arrested him on drug charges. The division continued the investigation and later, added a robbery charge to the arrest.

Debenedictis was held on $50,000 cash bail and arraigned on Nov. 5. If convicted, he faces up to 37 years in prison plus fines.
