
How does the government-supported ruling class stifle dissent? By getting people to shut up and to fear them.
Political correctness is a strategy employed by the cultural elite to dictate which ideas are allowed in the public forum. PC purveyors are the modern day Joseph McCarthy's, out to stop any speech that does not conform to their narrow ideology. Typically, their chosen attack strategies are shaming, shunning, and ridicule. It works very well.
Mass surveillance is a means of intimidating people into silence. The revelations disclosed to us in just the past six months about mass surveillance of U.S. Citizens have been breathtaking in their scope. I had no idea this was going on.
Both are anti-community and both are growing.
Take a look at this story from USA Today. Police departments all over the country are routinely violating the 4th Amendment by spying on citizens via their cellphones. We also learned Friday that the FBI is spying on people through their webcams and they can do so without turning on the camera's activation light. Finally, we also learned that the IRS is spying on taxpayers via Google Maps. This is frightening stuff.
Do you want to live in a community in which the government is managing everything you say and watching everything you do? I don't. What can we do about it? If we the people speak out we can stop it.
