NH Principal of the Year, NHSN David Ryan

The Nashua High School North principal will be honored in June in a statewide celebration.

The NH Association of School Principals announced yesterday at its annual luncheon that David Ryan, of Nashua High School North, will be honored as the 2012 High School Principal of the Year.

Ryan will be recognized in June at the "ED"ies Awards, an annual awards event hosted each year by more than 30 statewide educational organizations.

During Ryan's five years at the high school, the annual drop-out rate has declined from 3 percent to 1.27 percent, said district Superintendent Mark Conrad.

Ryan recently led NHS North through its first accreditation with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.  In particular, the NEASC visiting team noted the high level of concern NHSN faculty have for their students.

"David cares deeply about the success of each student.  That caring approach for a highly diverse student population speaks volumes about David's leadership and the compassionate professionalism of his faculty" Conrad said.
