Prostitution Sting Nets 12

Police said arrests followed complaints from residents of apparent prostitution going on in the city.

During the week of June 4 Nashua Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit conducted a three-day prostitution sting operation at various locations throughout the City of Nashua. Twelve arrests were made as part of the operation.

The prostitution sting was conducted in response to an uptick of complaints that were received from local residents and area hotels regarding increased levels of prostitution activity. The focus of the sting targeted street level prostitutes operating within the downtown area of the city as well as internet-based prostitutes who were advertising their services in Nashua.

Citizens and business owners are encouraged to report prostitution activity to the Nashua Police Department by calling the main number at 603-594-3500 or the Crime Line anonymous tip line at 603-589-1665.
