Raymond 'Buzzy' Savage, Longtime Coach

Raymond J. “Buzzy” Savage, 70, of Nashua, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 atin Nashua.

Buzzy was born in Lowell, Mass., on August 23, 1941, a son of the late Raymond J. Sr. and Mildred (Fralick) Savage and was a graduate of Billerica High School.

A resident of Nashua since the late 1960s, Buzzy worked as a civil engineer at both Sanders Associates, Inc. and Nashua Corporation until he opened his own construction business. He spent his younger years coaching baseball, hockey and boxing in the Nashua area. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, going to yard sales, camping, fishing, playing horse shoes and walking his dog, Toby. Buzzy’s greatest joy was his family, whom he blessed with love, laughter and many years of beautiful memories that will be in our hearts forever.

Besides his loving wife, Barbara (Noonan) Savage; Buzzy is survived by his three sons, Gary Savage and his wife Terry and their two children Samantha and Jesse all of Hudson; Raymond Savage of Nashua; and Jim Savage, Tracy (Haggerty) Savage and their two children Colin and Keegan of Plymouth, MA; a sister Brenda and her husband Robert Pacheco of Pelham; two brothers, William Savage and his wife Linda of The Villages, FL and Daniel Savage and his wife Sandy of Carlisle, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Toby.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the , 18 Lock Street, Nashua. Following cremation, a Graveside Service will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, 101 Kinsley Street, Nashua, Thursday, August 16th at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Nashua Boys and Girls Club, 47 Grand Avenue, Nashua, NH 03060.
