Recounts Fail to Change Results

State representative candidates in Nashua win by slim margins.

There were a slew of recounts across New Hampshire in races for state representative and even some ties.

In Nashua, after recounts earlier this month, the results matched what occurred on Election Night.

In the Hillsborough District 28/Nashua Ward 1 race, 14 votes separated Republican Eric Eastman (1,641), and two Democrats, state Reps. Sylvia Gale (1,634) and Jan Schmidt (1,626). After the recount and a Ballot Law Commission hearing on Nov. 21, Eastman was declared the winner by seven votes.
