Lowell Heroin Raid: 1 Arrested; $38K Seized

Police said Marc Monteiro heroin, cocaine and $38,000 in cash.

LOWELL, MA — A Lowell man was recently arrested on heroin trafficking charges after a police raid. Marc Monteiro, 44, was arrested Friday. Chelmsford police assisted Lowell police during the raid, which was the result of a search warrant targeting the suspect's Bowers Street apartment. Inside police said they found 33 grams of heroin, 16 grams of cocaine, a "large amount" of Gabapentin pills, more than $38,000 in cash, scales and "other items associated with narcotics distribution."

Monteiro's apartment was declared unsafe and condemned, police said. as part of an ongoing investigation into drug distribution in the Lowell area

Monteiro was charged with heroin trafficking (more than 14 grams), cocaine possession with intent to distribute and possession of a Class E substance (Gabapentin).
